SHANE MEADOW's revenge thriller DEAD MAN'S SHOES has been awarded the HITCHCOCK D'OR gong at this year's (04) DINARD BRITISH FILM FESTIVAL in France.

The festival jury announced the movie about two brothers who return to their hometown to torment the former torturers of their younger brother, won the top prize at the annual festival on Saturday (09OCT04).

The Hitchcock D'Or award in named after the late director, who lived in the Breton town which hosts the annual event.

Kenneth Glenaan's Anglo-Asian drama Yasmin triumphed with the Public's Prize.
