A series of lost photographs of movie legend JAMES DEAN are to be displayed for the first time to mark the 50th anniversary of his death.

The REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE star became an icon for film fans the world over after he died at the age of 24 in a 1955 car crash.

The lost photographs - taken by acclaimed photojournalist PHIL STERN - show the screen star in his early 20s, and are to be exhibited at London's SONY ERICSSON Proud Central Gallery from 29 April (05).

Other 50th anniversary celebrations also include the release of a DVD boxset - which will premiere at next month's (MAY05) CANNES FILM FESTIVAL - and a three-day event, the JAMES DEAN FEST, to be held in his hometown of Marion, Indiana.
