Dillon Happy His Fame Not On Cruise Level

Matt Dillon is relieved his fame never reached the superstardom levels of his The Outsiders co-star Tom Cruise.

The brooding actor, 41, was more famous than Cruise when they were both cast in the 1983 cult teen film, and while Dillon has gone to star in a series of gritty dramas and quirky comedies, Cruise has appeared in a string of multi-million dollar action blockbusters.

Dillon says, "I was famous before all those guys (Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe). I was the second youngest in the cast, but I was a screen veteran you know?

"I wouldn't swap careers with anyone. I wouldn't even swap careers with Tom Cruise. He's had success in a way few actors have, but I wouldn't swap. Really."
