Disney bosses are giving fans of their favourite animated characters a New Year's treat, by announcing the release of a limited edition set of American postage stamps.

The four 37 cent stamps will feature Mickey Mouse, DONALD DUCK and GOOFY on one; Bambi and THUMPER on another; plus The Lion King, PINOCCHIO and JIMINY CRICKET.

The set, which will be available this summer (04), will be the first of three annual sets planned featuring animated Disney heroes and heroines.
