Dj Funkmaster Flex Pleads Guilty To Harassment
Dj Funkmaster Flex pleaded guilty to harassment charges on Monday (07APR03) in New York's MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT - and was ordered to perform 35 hours of community service.
The DJ, real name ASTON GEORGE TAYLOR JR, avoided jail time for the more serious assault charges he was facing for allegedly attacking New York radio personality Steph Lova in front of WQHT-FM's offices in Greenwich Village in September (02).
Flex's attorney MURRAY RICHMAN says, "He pleaded guilty to the violation to dispose of this matter.
"He denies striking her and the district attorney agreed that this case could be adequately disposed of through a plea to harassment, which is a violation, not even a misdemeanour."
The two parties will face off again in civil court, as Steph Lova, real name STEPHANIE SAUNDERS, has hit Funkmaster Flex with a $5 million (GBP3.3 million) civil lawsuit.
Flex and Steph Lova were friendly until Lova allowed rapper Nas to accuse Flex of accepting bribes on her radio show.
According to Lova, when Flex saw her outside of WQHT's offices, an argument began, and it ended with Flex punching her in the face and grabbing her by the neck.
