Dmx Pleads Guilty To Violating Release Conditions
Troubled rapper DMX pleaded guilty to violating the conditions of his release following a 2004 car crash in New York City court on Tuesday (25OCT05).
The 34-year-old hip-hop star now faces up to 60 days in jail when he returns to Queens Criminal Court for sentencing next month (17NOV05).
The star, whose real name is Earl Simmons, pleaded guilty in December (04) to reckless endangerment after he smashed his sports utility vehicle (SUV) into a gate at New York's John F Kennedy International Airport in June 2004 and telling a parking attendant he was a federal agent. DMX later admitted he was on Valium at the time of the incident.
Since DMX was sentenced to a conditional discharge, he has been arrested twice for two traffic violations.
The rapper was caught driving a car at 104 miles (167 kilometres)-per-hour in Westchester County, New York only a week after his sentencing in December 2004. In April (05), his vehicle smashed into a woman's car on the Bronx's Major Deegan Expressway, which was propelled into an unmarked police car.
In court of Tuesday, DMX admitted to Judge DOROTHY CHIN-BRANDT that he committed the violations while his driver's license was suspended or revoked.
