Dmx's Animal Cruelty Damages Dog Clothing Promotion
Controversial rapper DMX is being sued for breach of contract and fraud for allegedly agreeing to promote a line of designer clothing for dogs, despite pleading guilty to animal cruelty in 2002.
Marketing firm AMUSING DIVERSIONS - who had invited DMX, real name EARL SIMMONS, to push their range of animal bubble jackets, raincoats and jerseys - filed a lawsuit against the star when they discovered he had caged and neglected 13 pitbull terriers in his Teaneck, New Jersey home.
The suit says, "Instead of a positive image relating to dogs, Simmons' image is poor and a severe detriment to getting chain stores like PETCO to carry the products."
Simmons' attorney refused to comment on the charges.11/06/2004 16:53
