Driver Puts Music Over Movies

Aspiring singer Minnie Driver dramatically snubbed the prestigious Venice Film Festival to focus on promoting her debut album.

The British Good Will Hunting actress turned down an invitation to attend this month's (SEP04) high-profile film junket in Italy to showcase songs from her LP EVERYTHING I'VE GOT IN MY POCKET, according to the UK's DAILY STAR newspaper.

The Hollywood beauty - who will be promoting her new venture in London on Thursday (09SEP04) - has also been inundated with TV offers, heightening speculation she's planning to slow down her movie work.

A source says, "Minnie has been asked if she can do several television projects and the most exciting one involves her good friend (British TV actress-turned-pop star) Jennifer Ellison."
