British movie star RUPERT EVERETT fears the future's bleak for traditional actors - because people will be able to create movie stars on computers.

THE NEXT BEST THING star believes actors will become computer nerds who can create perfection on the big screen by combining the looks of the most famous Hollywood stars.

He says, "I think an actor eventually will be someone who has a whole lot of digital audio tape tapes of MONTGOMERY CLIFT's eyes, JAMES DEAN's lips, CARY GRANT's shoulders, and he will be able to make a character on his computer that he will programme.

"You'll employ an actor, you'll tell him what his role is and he'll go and do it and he'll somehow be able to send a floppy disc of his role and that's how it will happen.

"The great actors will be just programmers."
