Geldof Denies Live Aid II Involvement
LATEST: SIR BOB GELDOF has rubbished reports he's organised a LIVE AID II concert to coincide with July's (05) G8 summit in Britain.
UK newspapers yesterday (08MAY05) claimed music legends SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and THE ROLLING STONES had agreed to perform at the 2 July event in London's Hyde Park, and a spokeswoman for Geldof confirmed the LIVE AID TRUST had been working on a live extravaganza.
The so-called LIVE 8 free concert was reportedly intended to encourage American President GEORGE W BUSH to end poverty in Africa when he meets the world's most powerful leaders in Scotland on 6 July (05).
However, Geldof has rubbished reports of his involvement, insisting he'll never take on a challenge like 1985's LIVE AID again.
He says, "It is kite flying, that's all it is. It is just talk. Why would I possibly repeat something I did 20 years ago?"09/05/2005 02:21
