Gervais Snubs Lucrative Us Offers For Life In Britain
The funnyman rocketed to fame in the US after his comedy show unexpectedly won two awards at January's (04) Golden GlobeS, and he's been swamped with lucrative Hollywood offers ever since.
But Gervais is keen to avoid becoming the token "Mr Brit" on a series of American shows and films, preferring instead to focus on work in his homeland.
He says, "I don't want to pop up as a Mr Brit on every other television programme. I need to go home to where it rains."
However, Gervais - who deems himself "a writer, not an actor" - will be seen playing a bomb maker in an upcoming episode of hit US spy series ALIAS.03/03/2004 02:12
