Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is convinced his life is coming to an end - but he'd be happy to die today because he already feels he's cheated death after years of drug and alcohol abuse.

The BEST OF YOU rocker expected to die young, like his former Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain, so he's thrilled he's reached 36 years of age.

And he credits his fatalistic attitude with his success, because his morbid beliefs inspire him to make the most of every moment.

He says, "I've had that fatalistic, 'I won't live to see the next Christmas' attitude my whole life. But it makes you appreciate what you have now.

"And if it all ended tomorrow, I'd be the happiest man alive. I feel like a cat with nine lives, as I've lived more than I could ever have imagined."
