British screenwriter Paul Haggis has been chosen to adapt IAN FLEMING's Casino Royale for the big screen.

The Million Dollar Baby writer will pen the script for the new James Bond film even before producers have announced who the next 007 will be.

GoldenEye director Martin Campbell will return to take charge of the 21st Bond adventure.

The script will based on the 1953 novel, which has already made it onto the big screen - with DAVID NIVEN starring at James Bond.
