The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins resents his band's success - because he has to pay thousands of pounds (dollars) in tax to British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE hitmaker is disillusioned by the politician's stance on the Iraq war and resented paying GBP500,000 ($900,000) income tax last year (04).

He says, "Exactly, That's what I paid in taxes last year. Half a million quid.

"Can you imagine what it feels like to send half a million quid to Tony Blair?

"I hate Tony Blair."
