Jadakiss' Shocking Anti-Bush Single
Jadakiss is furious that his attempt to reach the public before the presidential elections has been thwarted by outraged American radio stations who have removed the line "Why did Bush knock down the TWIN TOWERS?" before airing the song.
The 29-year-old explains, "I wanted to make a song that could appeal to a broader public and not only the hood. I wanted to make something that would touch people at home in white America.
"They're censoring me all over the place, and that's good. That means it's reaching out to everybody. When I made the song, I wrote it to be political, controversial, and to stir some things up. Somebody has to take the forefront and sacrifice. That's what I do, I sacrifice myself.
"I just felt Bush had something to do with September 11. That's why I put it in there like that. A lot of my people felt that he had something to do with it."
One programme director says, "Actually, the uncensored version of that line is probably my favourite in the whole song. Since they can hear us in Washington, and I don't want SECRET SERVICE knocking down my door in the middle of the night. I'll stick to the clean version."12/07/2004 21:00
