Mick Jagger hates his reputation as a miser and blames the Second World War for stunting his generosity.

The HONKY TONK WOMEN rocker, who was born in 1943 during the conflict, is reportedly worth $320 million (GBP180 million), but hates wasting anything.

He says, "I'm not stingy at all. I don't know what the reputation is all about, really. On the other hand, no one likes to pay more for things than they're worth.

"My early childhood memories are of rationing so I'm frugal, and I do look down on people who waste things. I always turn the lights out."
