Veteran rocker Annie Lennox has excited fans by planning a dramatic comeback with her former Eurythmics partner Dave Stewart.

The WHITER SHADE OF PALE singer starts her American tour with musician Sting in two weeks (27JUN04) but is desperate to relaunch the popular eighties band because she believes she is too old to continue her solo career.

The 49-year-old explains, "Maybe my prime is over but I feel I've earned my stripes. I think it's time to reform with Dave. The trouble with being solo is I'm so bl**dy anal that I tend to look up my own backside. I sit there in the same awful space."

The EURYTHMICS split in 1990 but reunited nine years later (99) for the album Peace and performed together last year (03) at Nelson Mandela's 46664 AIDS fund raising concert.
