British blues legend John Mayall has become the latest celebrity named in Queen Elizabeth II's birthday honours list.

The guitar great, who was a mentor to PETER GREEN and Eric Clapton, has been named an Officer Of The Order Of The British Empire (OBE).

The honour couldn't have come at a better time for Mayall - his BLUESBREAKERS group release their latest album, ROAD DOGS, today (14JUN05).

Other British rockers on the Queen's list include guitarist Brian May (CBE), Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page (OBE) and former ULTRAVOX frontman and Live Aid hero Midge Ure (OBE).
