Meyers: 'Elvis Was Gay' - Comments and Message Board
After a big research AND you find that Elvis was Gay??? What was your degree Meyers? Junior High school? Well.. even kids at the age of 5 they say Elvis is great not because of his clothing but his personality and talent. If they understand it so clealry and YOU CAN ONLY CONCLUDE WITH THAT KIND OF SENTENCE than YOU are one of those who want every people homosexual. By the way I am bisexual aaannnd I say He was f**king THAT STR8.The King is the greatest.

I don`t think that you reserched anything Elvis ever and I never understood why you were given that award at all, you don`t deserves it. Never have I watched a movie about Elvis with such a bad actor as you,I just didn`t recognize the Elvis that I know. You just took Elvis`story and made him look the way YOU wanted him to, not the way he really was.Shame on you!

Elvis wasn't gay, but he experimented when he was in his late teens. When Colonel Parker learned this, he had Elvis set up with another young man and secretly had photos taken. He held this over Elvis's head his entire life. He blackmailed Elvis and squeezed as much $ out of Elvis as he could. Many young musicians and artists often experiment, it doesn't mean anything. But to be blackmailed over it your entire career must be awful. Imagine having a manager that you despise and is guiding you in all the wrong directions, but there's nothing you can do!

I have been an elvis fan for 29 years.i saw your series and thought you played it well you look so much like him in the eyes!I fancied the pants off of you untill i found what you said about our king of rock and roll.You should not say these things about someone who is 6ft under the ground who cant defend thereselfs.You must of read about him for your part about him and you must have read elvis had more women than you will ever have and also more money and talent...so before you open your big mouth elvis will never be forgotten but i know you will!!!

Elvis WAS gay. Col. Tom Parker had photos of him with another young man when Elvis was about 20 years old. He held that over Elvis's head the rest of his life. Why else would Elvis not ever fire him, and did whatever the Colonel told him to do. Sort of like what Scientology is doing with John Travolta -- get the dirt on someone and hold them hostage for $ forever.

I would say a "Still tongue is a WISE head".There are a lot of elvis fans in this world (myself included) and I do think you have hit a very big nerve. If you wanted to get attention, well you most certainly did, but now you have to think,Was it a good move or a bad move? hmmmm..I think you know the answer to that one!!!!! I surely do..... As for Jonathan's comments, this isn't the first time this has been discussed but I believe this young Irishman basically had one too many pints when he said that. I mean, when I first heard of "Bend Like Beckham", I thought it was another Irish "Brokeback Mountain", especially after seeing him in the trailers. Now if Jonathan can take a little more acting lessons from the young man who walked away with Golden Globes for, let's see, "Walk The Line", maybe his future roles as an American would be more convincing. As for Elvis being gay, only Elvis would know that and if this is so and with me being an Elvis Impersonator, I guess I'm gay too. But you know what, Liberace had more class in his little pinkie ring than drunk Irishman Jonathan would have in his entire scrawy body. Cheers mate.

Well, lets just ask, June Juanico,Anita Wood, Shiela Ryan, Linda Thompson, Ginger Alden, Dixie Locke, Priscilla Presley. and many, many others, I'm sure they would not dignfy this topic, by answering, but seems to me Mr. Myers, that you have to go back to doing some more research, and find where you slipped up on this one. Elvis loved his Mother, that does not make a person Gay, Elvis dared to be different in his clothing style, that does not make a person Gay. You portrayed Elvis in a TV movie, from what I am reading, I cannot comment on your acting ability, as I didn't bother watching it, but I sure can comment on your remarks about a very loving, talented, giving person, who brings pleasure and a smile to many faces, just by the mere mention of his first name only... "ELVIS". I think you should do a self-examination of your own life, because to me, your comments are coming from insecurity. Grow up, you have the attention you seeked, but I'm not too sure, it will bring you the joy it brought Elvis, it has only brought out anger toward you, from what I am seeing. Let me first start off by saying i am only 21 years old. I am a very big fan of Elvis Presley. I admire all of his work that he did in his lifetime. I know i am too young to realize who elvis was but believe me i am fully aware of who elvis presley was. Now to continue on subject about Myers. my opinion on him...HE IS A VERY LOUSY ACTOR THAT GAVE ELVIS AND THE PRESLEY CLAN A BAD IMAGE. When i first saw the movie last year the movie was so bad i continue to watch it hoping and praying that only it would get better, but i was wrong. I have seen quite a few documenteries on elvis during my lifetime, elvis (with kurt russel) elvis and me and elvis meets nixon just to name a few. this movie by far was the worse one i have seen. i didnt like elvis meets nixon that much either but i rather sit through that movie over and over again than watch this 2005 movie. myers have the nerve to say elvis was gay. i know for a fact that he wasnt gay. heck when elvis was alive whereever he went regardless if was driving cars up and down elvis presley blvd or going to the studio or a concert he always had a female acquatinces by his side. now if a guy was gay wouldnt he a male by his side? i now he had his mafia but they didnt different jobs for him and a female was always around to be by his side whenever he needs a woman presence around, elvis' wardrobe yeah it was probably a little wild but to me it was just him. people back then try to compare him to liberace. if u ask me liberace wardrobe compared to elvis. elvis' was tame. Myers couldnt protray elvis even if he didnt have the material to work off of. Heck he tried to do that hand motion like elvis did in the 68 comeback during the if i can dream number and he was way off and too loose. i thought he was going to fly off the stage. a friend of mine does elvis impersonating and he asked me for my opinion on the movie and i told him they should of had him on there the movie would have been alot better. and about elvis living with his mother. i think he is just jealousy. his relationship with his momma is probably estaranged and not as close and spritual as elvis and gladys relationship was. elvis always promised his mother prior before him becoming famous that his mother would have a better life and she would never have to cook or clean ever again. in which he was true to his word. ok i think i have said enough about him. i can really say he is a lousy actor that thinks he is hot stuff because he had the role in the movie and did bad acting about elvis. to me i love and admire elvis alot and again i am only 21 years old. if i didnt have elvis in my life i dont even want to imagine where my life would be right now if i didnt have elvis in my life. my parents tell everyone that they rather have me listening to elvis then doing drugs and alcohol. now after saying all of this i think i am going to go and watch a elvis classic. maybe clambake maybe blue hawaii heck maybe i will watch all of them. i think i am going to have a elvis matinee anybody want to join me ;} just kidding. well i hope myers reads these comments and and realize what he said and thinks before he speaks.

Although Elvis never won an Oscar for his acting, he certainly was a better actor than you!! At least when he sang it was real!!! Not some bad lip sync like you!!! Meyers was mediocre at best with his portrayal of Elvis and maybe he should have studied how to act instead of coming up with ridiculous comments like that. Maybe he's jealous of Elvis. Meyers won an Emmy award out of it. Nice way to show respect. I'm a gay guy, and now that we're living in the 21st century, I wish people would stop labeling a guy's sexuality just by what he wears. Wearing flashy clothes or wearing makeup does not a gay man make. Elvis was in show business for goodness sake! I even know totally straight guys who are kind of effeminate. Sexuality is in the brain, it has NOTHING to do with your exterior such as what you wear or how you act. Grow up Meyers! Remember how in the 80's you were considered gay if you had an earring on your left (or was it right) ear? Nowadays, even straight guys have earrings on both ears! Usually gay guys start the fashion trends, and a few years later the straight guys are doing it. Elvis was just a flashy guy, and in the height of his career was a truly physically beautiful young man.

That is funny. Just because he acted gay in that no good TV junk back in 2005 doesn't mean Elvis was gay. He loved his mother alot. She was his world. He even let his parents stay at Graceland. Elvis dressed in style. More than any of these a**holes do in this day in time with their fake jewelery. Elvis had the real gold, diamonds, rubys, etc. This so called actor needs to get a life about what he is talking about. Either that are go back to mars or where ever he came from. He looks gay anyway just by looking at him. Now since he said this I bet his career will be going down like you never seen.
