Mojo Awards Hail Morrissey, The Clash And Sting

British music magazine MOJO has honoured British rockers Morrissey, THE CLASH and Sting on their inaugural Honours List in London yesterday (22JUN04).

Mojo, which celebrates the best in classic and new rock music, gave their Inspiration Award to punk rockers The Clash, while radio listeners voted Morrissey their Icon winner.

Sting was given The Mojo Mondial, an award which recognises, "A performer who's used all kinds of musical styles, from jazz and soul through to world music, to create a unique sound that's gone on to influence soul, urban, hip hop and a new generation of rock stars."

Other big names included on the list were Led Zepplin, James Brown and THE KINKS frontman Ray Davies.
