Canadian pop queen Alanis Morissette is proud of her work to date, but she insists her teenage attempts at songwriting were less than impressive.

The JAGGED LITTLE PILL star, 31, is desperately embarrassed by her love-struck adolescent lyrics, as she only started to rock when she hit 19.

She says, "There are things I wrote when I was 16 that I am embarrassed by now.

"I used to write songs about flirty girls looking for boys.

"When I was ten, I wrote a song called FOUND THE RIGHT MAN. It was a cringe-fest.

"But, from 19 onwards, there's nothing I'd want to change."
