Top British stars Kate Moss, Stephen Fry and PJ Harvey are joining forces to defend the sport of fox-hunting, despite the recent government decision to ban the pursuit.

The traditional country event has long been criticised by animal rights protestors for the way foxes are killed by hounds. After repeated unsuccessful attempts by members of parliament (MPs) to pass a ban through the House Of Lords, a special Parliament Act was invoked last month (NOV04) to override the Lords and enforce an outright ban from February 2005.

Supermodel Moss, actor and writer Fry, singer Harvey, soccer star-turned-actor Vinnie Jones and Australian beauty Elle Macpherson are in talks to praise the sport in a documentary for the CHANNEL 4 TV network.

ZIG ZAG PRODUCTIONS, who are producing the programme, says, "This won't be an urbanite's (city-dweller) look at how the other half live, but a celebration of a way of life little understood outside the countryside."
