Director Jared Hess gained the Spanish skills he needed to direct Mexican wrestling film NACHO LIBRE by spending two years in a Mormon missionary in Venezuela. The Napoleon Dynamite director shot his new film, which features an all-Mexican cast except for star Jack Black, with a local crew from Oaxaca, Mexico. Telenovela star ANA DE LA REGUERA stars as Black's love interest, along with real-life wrestlers BRONCO, EL PONY, and the midget tag team SATAN'S HELPERS. Hess explains, "These are real people you could never find in Hollywood. "We did all the casting in Mexico City and on location because it was very important to me that we be authentic to his outrageous lucha libre world."
