Legendary rocker Neil Young has labelled American President George W Bush "immature" with a "punk attitude", comparing the leader's obsession with power to that of a "six-year-old" with a toy.

The ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD singer reckons America needs Russia to counterbalance the spread of power, because the politicians steering his native country are turning them into a prime terrorist target.

The veteran star is also disgusted by the US reaction to France's decision not to partake in the invasion of Iraq earlier this year (03).

Neil says, "We need the Russians bad. We need somebody that's got as much power as the US because it's like a baby with a bomb.

"It's my opinion that these people are very immature. The reaction to France that they allowed to happen is so immature.

"These people have their own opinion. They're not f***ing Americans - they're French. Let them be French. Y'know, this Freedom Fries thing - that came from the administration. That's where these people's heads are at.

"I mean, it's so unbelievable and Bush could have stopped that c*** right away, but he didn't. Because it plays into his punk attitude. Talk about a six-year-old with a TONKA toy.

"It's probably the most fertile time for underground and cultural revolution since NIXON. Bush has polarised the country and is creating this breeding ground for an opposition."
