Network Escapes Big Trouble After Neil's X-Rated Outburst

LATEST: American TV network NBC has escaped any harsh fines for VINCE NEIL's use of foul language during a live New Year's Eve (31DEC04) broadcast of THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO.

A number of viewers were outraged when Neil shouted "Happy f**king New Year" to MOTLEY CRUE bandmate TOMMY LEE shortly after the clock struck midnight. The remark was carried to viewers on the east coast but bosses ensured it was edited out before it was broadcast in the rest of the US.

And American TV show CELEBRITY JUSTICE has now learned that very little will come of the incident because comedian JAY LENO's programme is a late-night show with an adult audience - unlike JANET JACKSON's breast flash during last year's (04) family- oriented SUPER BOWL, which sparked widespread outrage.
