New Gay Reality Dating Show For Bravo
Television station BRAVO are to go ahead this summer (03) with America's first primetime gay-themed reality dating series.
Called BOY MEETS BOY, the show features an eligible man searching for a love match from a pool of 15 potential partners.
But, in a similar twist to the Fox network's JOE MILLIONAIRE, some of the 15 are actually straight men pretending to be gay, unbeknownst to the bachelor.
Co-creator and series producer DOUGLAS ROSS says, "I think this will be truly groundbreaking television.
"One of the reasons we decided to take the basic dating format and throw in this twist is that we wanted the show to appeal to a broader audience."
Ross also hopes that the innovative programme will challenge stereotypes about men and homosexuality.
He adds, "Several of the straight men have very intense experiences. We anticipate a lot of both gay and straight viewers will have their assumptions challenged about what it means to be gay and what it means to be straight."
The show will be broadcast in July (03) on Bravo, and is presented by British television host Dani Behr.27/05/2003 09:08
