Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger credits the band's success with saving him from a life of crime.

The 31-year-old singer and rhythm guitarist, who formed the band in the small Canadian town of Hanna, is convinced he would have ended up stealing cars or dealing drugs if the band failed to hit the big time in Vancouver.

He says, "I honestly think if Nickelback hadn't worked out, I'd be in jail, on a charge of grand theft auto or trafficking."
