British band The Darkness failed to win a single prize at the NME MUSIC AWARDS yesterday (12FEB04), after refusing to attend the event.

The glam rockers began a feud with the NME music magazine last year (03) after it printed a damming critique of their first single. And they have refused to reconcile since, despite being nominated for four awards at the London ceremony - choosing instead to appear in concert in Copenhagen, Denmark.

But is seems the mag has had the last laugh, snubbing the band in every category.

The big winners at the bash were Kings Of Leon, Radiohead, The Libertines and Queens Of The Stone Age.

The major award winners are as follows:

Best New Band: KINGS OF LEON

Best Video: RADIOHEAD - THERE THERE

Best Single: THE WHITE STRIPES - 7 NATION ARMY

Best Film: Lord Of The Rings: THE RETURN OF THE KING

Rock And Roll Man Of The Year: Har Mar Superstar

Best Live Band: QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE

Living Legend: ARTHUR LEE

Philip Hall Radar Award: Franz Ferdinand

Best Event: Glastonbury

Best International Band: KINGS OF LEON

Best UK Band: THE LIBERTINES

Best Album: RADIOHEAD - HAIL TO THE THIEF

Godlike Genius: Ozzy Osbourne.
