Phoenix Hates Promoting Films

Joaquin Phoenix hates promoting his movies once he finished filming them, because he's not "a salesman".

The 31-year-old, who stars in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line, insists he did not decide to become an actor to get attention.

He says, "That's not why I became an actor.

"I'm coming to terms with it slowly, that I have to do this and I'm contractually obliged!

"But I didn't sign up to be a salesman.

"When people say to me, 'Why should I go see your film?' I'm like, 'F**k it, don't see it. Do what you like.'"

Living Dove

Hey, Joaquin can talk to me, if he likes. I'm sober as of the day the coroner's office signed River Phoenix's autopsy, November 15, 1993, and he knows this. I write his family ad nauseum. Think of the conversation that might be! :)Love,Vivian Taube
