Late musician RAY CHARLES is set to have a Los Angeles post office named in his honour.

US President GEORGE W BUSH signed the honour into law earlier this month (JUL05) and an official naming ceremony at the building - located on Washington Boulevard, near the site of Charles' original studio - will take place on 24 August (05).

Congresswoman DIANE WATSON authored the federal legislation designating the facility as the Ray Charles Post Office Building, reports MTV News.
