Superstar PRINCE has been confirmed as a headliner for the GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2004 - as this year's event draws to a close.

Organiser MICHAEL EAVIS also hinted that OASIS and SIR PAUL McCARTNEY would join the DIAMONDS AND PEARLS singer at the top of the bill next year (04).

And the British farmer has expressed his delight at the success of this weekend's festival (ends29JUN03) - declaring it to be "the best ever, without a shadow of a doubt."

He says, "I've got three headliners for next year - isn't that good? Prince promised me he would do it next year, it's good that we've got all these top bands wanting to play here. We would really like Paul McCartney to play and I just hope he will play next year but I don't know yet."

Of the suggestion that Oasis will make an appearance he says, "You can draw your own conclusions. I'm not saying."
