Proof Shot Second Gun Victim?
LATEST: Slain rapper PROOF has been accused of starting the gun battle which led to his death at a Detroit, Michigan nightclub yesterday (11APR06). The 32-year-old - real name DESHAUN HOLTON - was one of two victims shot and killed at nightspot CCC on the city's infamous Eight Mile Road. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Conner Creek Medical Center. Relatives of critically ill KEITH BENDER - who is a retired US Army staff sergeant and a veteran of the first Gulf War - have accused Proof of shooting the 35-year-old first, before he was fatally gunned down by an unknown assailant, according to reports in the Detroit News. Bender's brother KYLE, who was present at the CCC club yesterday (11APR06), says, "What I don't want to happen is for (Proof) to be glorified as another fallen rapper hero. "It's senseless violence that's right here in our community and we can't get rid of it." Since the news broke yesterday, fans have been flocking to Proof's MySpace blog to post messages of remembrance. Proof leaves behind a wife and five children.
