After inducting VAN MORRISON into the Songwriters Hall of Fame last night (12JUN03) in New York, RAY CHARLES joined him for a duet on CRAZY LOVE.

QUEEN, LITTLE RICHARD and PHIL COLLINS were also inducted.

Morrison used his induction speech to pay tribute to Charles: "If it wasn't for Ray, most of us wouldn't be here."

Others honorees included TONY BENNETT, who won the Towering Song Award for I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO, J RECORDS boss CLIVE DAVIS, who received the Hitmaker Award, and diva PATTI LABELLE, who was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.
