Blade 3: TRINITY star Ryan Reynolds has confirmed he'll play THE FLASH in a new movie version of the superhero comic story.

The actor, who is engaged to rocker Alanis Morissette, put himself forward for the movie after hearing what bosses at studio Warner BROS have planned for the film.

Reynolds says, "If Warner Bros decides to greenlight it, I will be playing the role."

The film will follow the adventures of WALLY WEST, who gains special powers after being exposed to lightning-struck chemicals and becomes The Flash, who dedicates his life to fighting crime.
