LATEST: Controversial play MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE has been transferred to London's West End after a New York theatre cancelled its run because of the current "political climate". The play, directed by actor Alan Rickman, charts the true story of an American peace activist who was killed by an Israeli army bulldozer - and Rickman has accused the New York Theatre Workshop of being scared of appearing to take sides on the conflict between Israel and Palestine. But the Playhouse Theatre in London has welcomed the production with open arms. The play starts next week (beg27MAR06) before going on a regional tour. Producer David Johnson, who raised funds to stage the play from backers including activist Michael Moore, says, "I think it's a colossal piece of work and a very important work about something that is deeply topical. "The groundswell of opinion in America is just crazy."
