Robert Smith Happy Without Children

The Cure frontman Robert Smith is comfortable with his decision to never have children - because he feels he's far too irresponsible to bring any offspring into the world.

The 45-year-old rocker and his wife MARY POOLE will celebrate 16 years of marriage next month (AUG04), and they're happy they never brought children of their own into their romance.

Smith says, "I have 25 nephews and nieces, so I have the pleasure of lots of children around when I want them. But I can shut the door on them.

"My wife and I decided at a very early age that we would not have children. I don't feel responsible enough to bring a child into the world."
