Robert Rodriguez advises other directors to follow his example, by making quick movies if they want to attract A-list actors.

The film-maker insists busy Hollywood stars like Benicio Del Toro, CLIVE Owen and Mickey Rourke agreed to act in his new film Sin City, because of his reputation as a speedy director.

Rodriguez says, "I work 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. Speed is the key to everything I do.

"Benicio was in for four days, Clive Owen was there for eight and Mickey was the longest at two weeks.

"I tell stars, 'You might get $20million for a movie, but you're working on it for 10 months.

"Come and work for me and I will pay you well for 10 days.' It's always fun."
