Simple Minds Perform Again

The original line-up of Simple Minds have reformed for one night only - to celebrate the birthday of their former manager.

The band, who formed in 1978 and are best known for their 1985 hit DON'T YOU (FORGET ABOUT ME), reconvened at BRUCE FINDLAY's birthday bash in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Singer Jim Kerr, guitarist CHARLIE BURCHILL, bassist DEREK FORBES, drummer BRIAN McGEE and keyboard player MICK MacNEILL jammed onstage, and loved spending time together.

Kerr says, "I enjoyed every minute, including the slanderous banter that we were all subjected to.

"Some people had photos of all five of us in a line-up. As McGee said, it must be the first photograph of us together since 1981.

"What a decrepit gang we are now. We look like a bunch of war veterans. Still very proud."
