The family of late MC5 singer ROB TYNER are suing the band's three surviving members over the rights to the legendary group's compositions, recordings and the MC5 trademark.

Guitarist Wayne Kramer, bassist Michael Davis and drummer DENNIS THOMPSON and their related companies are named in a suit brought by Tyner's widow REBECCA DERMINER and their three children.

Original band members Tyner - real name ROBERT DERMINER - and FRED 'SONIC' SMITH both died in the early 90s.

Detroit, Michigan, rockers the MC5, who split in 1972, are widely credited alongside their motor city compatriots The Stooges with influencing what became known as punk rock in the late 70s.
