Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh will use recently declassified Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) files to help make his forthcoming ERNESTO 'CHE' GUEVARA biopic.

Speaking at the Venice Film Festival in Italy yesterday (06SEP05), Soderbergh announced the controversial movie, which will star his Academy Award-winning Traffic actor Benicio Del Toro as the late Argentine guerilla and is due to begin shooting next year (06), will rely on the transcripts.

The film-maker is thought to be planning to include the inside information from the CIA papers describing the moment when Guevara was executed in 1967 by Bolivian troops, thought to be backed by the US intelligence agency.

Previous films about Guevara have included CHE! (1969), Evita (1996), Oliver Stone's COMMANDANTE documentary and last year's (04) DIARIOS DE MOTOCICLETA (The Motorcycle Diaries).
