Springer Shuns Politics For Tv Return

Maverick chat show host Jerry Springer has shunned a return to US politics in favour of a lucrative TV contract.

The former Cincinnati mayor, was considering running for office in Ohio, but has been persuaded to continue his talkshow success.

The Jerry Springer Show will return to television screens courtesy of a multiyear deal with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Of his show Springer says, "I truly enjoy doing it; people seem to enjoy watching it."

Springer was once mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio.
