Springsteen Tour Dominates Touted Ticket Sales
Bruce Springsteen dominated not only America's concert box office last year (03), but also the second-hand market, where touters can resell unwanted tickets for much more than face value.
STUBHUB.COM, an online marketplace, has ranked the top 10 concerts of 2003 based on secondary ticket sales, including its own results, as well as ticket transactions of resale competitors, such as website eBAY and ticket brokers.
Tickets to Dave Matthews' tour originally valued at $52 (GBP30) apiece for his 20 December (03) show at Staples Center in Los Angeles were listed at a fixed $648 (GBP381), while floor tickets for Shania Twain's upcoming 23 April (04) concert at PHILIPS ARENA in Atlanta, Georgia - with a face value of $80 (GBP47) - are posted on Stubhub.com for $412 (GBP242) each.
