Sylvester Stallone's reality show The Contender looks set to return for a second season, after US cable network ESPN announced it is close to acquiring the rights the boxing series.
It is unclear whether Stallone will feature in a second season of The Contender if it is acquired by ESPN, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
WILL STAEGER, ESPN original entertainment executive producer, says, "It's very possible that (The Contender) could be paired with a boxing dramatic series."
Despite a cult following, the reality show failed to set the ratings alight and was cancelled by bosses at US TV network NBC earlier this year (MAY05). The finale aired on 24 May (05).
