Chris Cornell, Jack Johnson and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS star John Frusciante stunned fans at a Pearl Jam charity concert in Santa Barbara, California on Tuesday (28OCT03) by joining the band onstage.

The JEREMY rockers were as shocked as the audience when they realised so many famous friends would be attending the cancer benefit show.

Frontman Eddie Vedder joked, "We didn't invite any of the sh**ty friends."

The group paid tributes to both the Ramones and Johnny Cash with renditions of I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES and 25 MINUTES TO GO.

Former Soundgarden and AUDIOSLAVE star Cornell once stood in for Vedder when the singer was ill on the group's 1992 Lollapalooza tour.
