Stars Line Up To Support Hannah's Farm Protest
KILL BILL star Daryl Hannah insists she'll fight on to save America's largest urban farm after gaining support from a host of celebrity pals. The actress, who was arrested last Tuesday (13JUN06) for resisting arrest following a 23-day protest on the site of Los Angeles' South Central Farm, has been inundated with phone calls from stars keen to help save the site from developers. Hannah, who persuaded friends including Willie Nelson and Martin Sheen to support the South Central Farm protest, now has a growing army of celebrities who want to help return the land to the 350 families who have cultivated it since 1987. She says, "Benicio Del Toro just called and Los Lobos. People are calling and offering help in droves." And Hannah admits she's using her celebrity status to get more stars to show an interest in her current cause: "I'm cold-calling people I don't even know." Meanwhile, the farm land is being protected by a security detail hired by landowner ROB HOROWITZ and Hannah and her fellow protestors have launched an appeal to prompt Los Angeles officials to force Horowitz to hand the land over to a charity organisation who met his original price for the site.
