Rocker Rod Stewart has rescued his favourite soccer club Celtic by offering them his garden after they were left without a training ground.

The Scottish team's manager GORDON STRACHAN had booked the Bisham Abbey complex in Buckinghamshire, England for his team to use, but the pitch became unplayable after it dried out in this week's (begs11JUL05) searing heat.

But the MAGGIE MAY singer saved the day by inviting the Scottish team to use the full-size pitch at his 180 acre Copped Hall Estate in Essex, so they could continue preparing for their friendly match against Fulham in London on Saturday (16JUL05).

Stewart's spokeswoman BARBARA SHARONE says, "Rod is a massive Celtic fan and this was a dream come true."

A Celtic insider adds, "Rod told him he'd love for him to bring the squad round if they ever wanted to use it.

"It seemed like the perfect solution and Rod was over the moon."
