Stones To Play First China Gig?

Rock legends THE ROLLING STONES could be playing their first ever concert in China - to make up for cancelling their Asian shows three years ago (2003) at the height of the SARS epidemic.

The SIR MICK JAGGER-fronted band have scheduled a massive stadium gig at Shanghai's Grand Stage this April (06), a Beijing-based company reports on its website.

The posting reads, "The Rolling Stones first-ever concert in China, do not miss it," and advertises tickets for between $38 and $375 (GBP22 and GBP220).

The Rolling Stones were previously signed up to play Shanghai and Beijing in 2003, but the gigs were cancelled amid fears of spreading the acute respiratory syndrome SARS.

Earlier this month (18FEB06) the band performed the second largest concert in history when they wowed nearly two million fans in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
