Conscientious stars SUM 41 are planning a visit to troubled African country Democratic Republic of the Congo to film a documentary highlighting the African country's troubles.

The quartet will spend two weeks in May (04) examining human rights, poverty and the role of child soldiers - some of whom were forcibly enlisted in the country's bloody civil war.

They will also interview kids for the documentary FROM THE FRONT LINES, which will be produced by the Canadian charity organisation War Child.

Upon learning of the atrocities and extraordinary death toll in the Congo, the concerned rockers took the initiative and contacted War Child offering their services.

The band's look at the Congo will comprise one-third of the documentary, whilst the remainder of the film will focus on two other African countries plagued with similar problems.
