The Archers Star Dies

THE ARCHERS radio star GRAHAM ROBERTS died yesterday (28OCT04) at the age of 75.

The actor had played gamekeeper GEORGE BARFORD for 31 years in the British BBC RADIO 4 soap and appeared in numerous films and television shows, including A TOUCH OF BRASS, Z CARS, THIS SPORTING LIFE and A TASTE OF HONEY .

His distinctive voice was chosen for more than 100 unabridged audio books, including legal drama RUMPOLE OF THE BAILEY

and the biography of British comedians MORECAMBE AND WISE.

Roberts leaves behind his soprano singer wife YVONNE ROBERT.
