The Darkness Are Fastest Growing Brit Act In America

Rock band The Darkness have stormed America, becoming Britain's fastest growing act in the US since the Spice Girls.

The energetic four-piece headed across the Atlantic on a mission conquer - and so far they have done just that by selling more than 250,000 copies of their debut album PERMISSION TO LAND.

They follow in the footsteps of other British acts such as Radiohead, Dido and Coldplay, who have all enjoyed success in the US. However, no British band has got the Americans quite this excited since POSH and co burst onto the scene in February 1997.

The guys have been touring the US, appearing on hit TV shows and have been interviewed on the biggest radio stations - Boston's WBCN, Chicago's Q101 and Atlanta's 99X.

This current tour is the band's fifth trip to America in the past twelve months and they have already planned three further tours for later on this year (04).

The band's frontman JUSTIN HAWKINS says, "We've made enough money to retire. But we won't stop. We'll do whatever it takes to succeed in America. There's no easy way."
